The Wardens of Long Island present... Eddie Stark From Up North, Part 4
We relentlessly discuss Eddard Stark- we discuss him as though he is an American President and we are his official Presidential biographers.
This week, we focus on one of the most mysterious- and likely the least romantic- love triangles in modern fiction.
'50 Shades of Grey' this is not... or maybe it is. We wouldn't know nor will we ever. Because we are men. Real men.
We have all known a dude much like young Ned at one point in our life- That guy with a quiet intensity and a deep melancholy. That overly responsible guy picking his old man up from the bar after a bender. That silent overachieving guy trying to make up for his out-of-control, borderline personality older brother with 5 girlfriends. That guy that never knew how to use words to communicate his feelings, so instead he wrote really shitty poetry, at least you assume he did but never found out because, if he did, he never intended to share his work, and furthermore, he hid his works in the deep, dark recesses of his bedroom... where other guys would hide porn. That guy that we all knew- that is young Ned Stark.
This episode's artwork is titled "WolfBlood" and it depicts Eddard having a moment with Arya as the spirits of Brandon and Lyanna watch on. Of all his children, Arya embodies the spirit of Ned's sister Lyanna. It was only when I saw this piece that I realized Arya best embodies the spirit of Brandon as well. "WolfBlood" was created by MustAmirri. This piece, as well as more thoughtful and touching pieces, can be found at www.mustamirri.deviantart.com
