Danaerys Targaryen was believed to be the last of her House through seasons 1 to 5, and most of season 6. Some on the ol’ interweb would have us believe that she is still the scion of House Targaryen in spite of clear visual and audible evidence that she is not. But the interweb is great for silly theories in both fiction and real life!
All the same, Danaerys Stormborn has been framed as the hero of this story since the final half of season 1.
