Catelyn Stark: Wherein The Lady of Winterfell is Similar to a Sociopath

SPOILERS!!!

FOR ALL PUBLISHED BOOKS IN #GRRM'S A Song of Ice and Fire AS WELL AS ALL TELEVISED EPISODES OF HBO'S Game of Thrones...

Born amidst salt and smoke- Just off the Long Island Expressway- Beneath a bleeding star...

Catelyn Stark made some key decisions during the first volume of ASoIaF. These decisions brought not just her House and her family to the brink of war and then beyond, but they also worked to tear apart the seems that were holding the Realm together. Each successive choice she made within A Game of Thrones acted as a small rock bouncing down a metaphorical mountainside packed with deadly boulders. It was these boulders that were loosed into an avalanche that fell upon The Seven Kingdoms in the form of a horrible and violent Civil War.

In A Clash of Kings, Catelyn Stark does not fool us as easily, but she does try. The Worst Lady of Winterfell in the history of The North takes a much more passive approach to decision-making in the second volume of ASoIaF. More is the pity, as it seems most all of the choices that she makes in ACoK are insignificant.

If there is one thing that John and SeannieWan have learned in their dealings with Lady Cat, it is that she is the 'Worst,' and despite her decision-making dormancy for the majority of A Clash of Kings, The Lady of Winterfell more than makes up for it with a doooooozy that not only drastically changes the fortunes and options for House Stark, Tully, Umber, Mallister, Bracken, Blackwood, Karstark, Vance, Piper, Manderly, Glover, and every other loyal House in The North and The Riverlands, but also leads The Wardens of Long Island to conclude that Catelyn Stark hadn't so much learned her lesson from the ramifications of her poor decision-making as she was waiting and gearing herself up for the Mother of All Bad Decisions.

The cover art for this episode of #TPTWP is titled Cat n Brienne. It was created by artist Joe Harty and more of his colorful and animated pieces, many within the fantasy genre and ASoIaF specifically, can be found on his website... which just so happens to be right the F HERE.

The Princes That Were Promised are John and SeannieWan. Every week they tear apart Westeros and sift through the pieces to bring their Leal and Loyal Subjects the history of the Realm and The Known World from both George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire and HBO's adaptation, Game of Thrones.
